Triple draw

Triple Draw is a special variant of the card game poker , which is usually played as a fixed limit variant.

At the beginning of the game each player receives five cards face down. The first betting round follows. A total of three trading and betting rounds now follow. As usual, the final is the showdown.

Triple draw is mostly played lowball . This means that the weakest hand wins. There are two ways of evaluation.

  • A-5 Triple Draw : Flushes and straights do not count. Aces are the lowest cards. So the weakest hand would be A2345.
  • 2-7 Triple Draw : Flushes and straights count as usual. Aces are the highest cards. So the weakest hand would be 23457 in at least two suits.

2-7 Draw is also sometimes referred to as a single draw . H. played with only one round of exchange, then usually as a no-limit variant. This variant is also called Kansas City Lowball . This game is offered almost exclusively on online platforms and at the WSOP , as it is not particularly popular with the broad mass of poker players. Until 2008, the No Limit 2-7 single draw tournament with rebuys was one of the most spectacular events of the WSOP , as it was almost exclusively the top professionals of the scene and the number of rebuys was extremely high.
