The Badener Hütte (also: Badner Hütte or Badnerhütte ) is an alpine club hut located in the eastern Venediger group ( Austria ) on the Frosnitzkees .

Origin, operation

Badener Hut, 1912

The construction of cottage dates back to a by Ralf Malcher (1880-1957), co-founder of the re launched on 3 February 1905 Section Baden (near Vienna) the German and Austrian Alpine Association ( DuÖAV ) and future first warden , in 1908 In 1910, the shell construction was carried out by a construction company at its storage site in Mödling . A year later, the structure was transferred to its current location, completed on October 11, 1911, opened on July 1, 1912 and inaugurated on August 5, 1912 (at the beginning of a three-day festival). On August 4, 1914, the management was suspended until further notice due to the war. After the military lockdown in 1915, the hut was repeatedly broken into; the paths in the hut area were partially dilapidated. In 1926 the unmanaged Badener Hütte offered ten mattress dormitories. In 1927 the property became unencumbered.

In 1950 the Baden section of the DuÖAV was transferred to the Baden branch of the Austrian Alpine Club ( OEAV ). In 1970/71 the winter hut was built (to accommodate up to eight people) ; In 1982/83, a number of additions and extensions were removed from the main house and replaced by a generous porch that was more conducive to the overall picture. Between 1995 and 1998, the guest room was gradually enlarged, the drinking water supply was rebuilt in accordance with official regulations and a small power station was created for the electricity supply; A small wastewater disposal plant followed in 1999.

The 1st category refuge is open from the end of June to mid-September. Outside of the hut's management hours, there is a winter room available that is always open. An AV key is not necessary.
