The cadastral community thus includes the towns of Kienburg , Huben , Moos , Feld , Mattersberg , Klausen and Seblas in the upper Iseltal valley (from south to north) , and in the Matreier valley basin (starting from the northeast in a clockwise direction) the towns of Glanz , Hinterburg , Klaunz , Bichl , Waier and Ganz , in the lower Virgental the town of Zedlach and in the Tauerntal (from south to north) the towns of Kaltenhaus (with the hamlet of Stein), Proßegg , Hinteregg , Gruben , Berg , Raneburg and Tauer as well as the Gschlößtal with the alpine settlements of Innergschlöß and Aussergschlöß .

history

Matrei in Osttirol Land formed an independent municipality until 1938. The community was formed in 1817 from 16 formerly independent groups and operated under the name Windisch-Matrei-Land until the 20th century . It was only after the National Socialists came to power that Matrei in Osttirol Land was merged with the previously independent municipality of Matrei in Osttirol Markt . Matrei in Osttirol Land, however, remained as a cadastral community.
