Buildings and sights

Klausen is home to a chapel dedicated to St. Chrysanth and St. Daria . The construction of the chapel was approved in 1849 and carried out until 1851, after which it was consecrated on October 25, 1852 by the Matreier dean Johann Wierer. The chapel has a slightly indented round arch choir on a rectangular floor plan. A steep, clapboard-covered gable roof rises above it, with a tower-like, clapboard-covered roof turret rising above it on the entrance side. This was carried out on a hexagonal floor plan and has round-arched sound holes, a bell roof and an onion dome. The longitudinal walls are pierced by two rectangular windows each, the entrance portal is also rectangular.

The interior is dominated by the wooden altar from the beginning of the 19th century and the wall paintings. These show the finding of the cross, which is flanked by oval medallions with depictions of the holy popes Silvester and Gregory. The altar has a dark green marble setting and gold-plated ornamental parts. The altar panel shows a crucifix with a depiction of Mary Magdalene , in the excerpt there is a depiction of St. Chrysanth in oval form. The altar columns are flanked by figural depictions of St. Florian (left) and St. Sebastian (right). The way of the cross of the chapel dates from the middle of the 19th century and shows engravings from the 19th century.
