The Bonn-Matreier Hütte (Bonn-Matreier-Hütte) is an Alpine Club hut of the Austrian Alpine Club and the German Alpine Club in the Venediger Group . The hut is located in the northwest of the municipality of Virgen at an altitude of 2750 m above sea level. A.
The hut offers a panoramic view from the Slovenian Triglav over the Schober group , the Lienz Dolomites , the Lasörling group , the Villgraten mountains to the South Tyrolean Dolomites . Several three-thousand-meter peaks are in the area of the hut.
history
From 1884 to 1887 the Bonner Hütte was built in South Tyrol , which was expropriated by Italy in 1919 . As a replacement for the lost hut in South Tyrol, the Bonn Section together with the Matrei Section (OeAV), which was looking for a partner because of the bad economic situation at the time , built the Bonn-Matreier Hut on the Venediger Höhenweg in 1931/1932 . It was ready for use on August 14, 1932.
In the early 1980s, the hut was extensively rebuilt and expanded. In the 1990s, a new material ropeway with expanded factory traffic was built. At the beginning of the new millennium, the hut was equipped with a waste water disposal system (filter bag system) and a modern energy supply system ( combined heat and power plant with biodiesel and photovoltaic system ). 40 mattresses and 13 beds in the room offer hikers and mountaineers accommodation.
This is the only German-Austrian hut community in the Alps to date that has endured through all the turmoil of time.
