A. ), which branches off at this pre-peak is the southeast ridge Connection Ridge to Sail head , the deepest cut of this ridge is the Sail charter ( 3080  m above sea level. A. ). The Hohe Eichham is likely to havebeen climbedas part of the military land survey using triangulation in the 1850s. Tourist development

The usual ascent starts from the Bonn-Matreier hut . First you climb the Sailkopf on its normal route , then you descend about 130 meters in altitude on its northwest ridge into the Sailscharte. Now the Nilkees is crossed westwards to the Eichhamscharte ( 3125  m above sea level ). Alternatively, you can also climb from the Nilljochhütte ( 1990  m above sea level ) directly through the Nile Valley to the Nilkees and the Eichhamscharte. From the Eichhamscharte you now climb up the southern flank, whereby the walking area extends up to about 3200 meters. The key points of the following climbing form a short, steep wall step and the climbing down into a notch shortly before the summit construction ( II ). The route is quite exposed, it can be secured with bolts . It takes about 3½ hours from the Bonn-Matreier Hütte to the summit. When crossing the Nilkeeses is crevasses rather low, but may vary depending on conditions crampons and pimples be advantageous.
