Haibühl was first mentioned in a document in 1293. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Rott Monastery . In the 19th and 20th centuries it formed a center of glass painting for four generations , where the Gickel family of painters ran their workshop.

With the municipal reform in 1978, Haibühl was incorporated into the Arrach municipality. The town hall and the elementary school Arrach / Haibühl with a gym are located in Haibühl.

The Wolfgang chapel, built from 1654 onwards, was expanded in 1859/60 to include a chancel and a sacristy. After the tower was demolished in 1866, a new tower was built in 1892. In 1927 an upper floor was added to the tower. In 1903/04 Johann Baptist Schott built a partially new building. The parish church of St. Wolfgang was given its current form in 1977/78 by O. Lehner's conversion into a hall church . The old baroque furnishings and the existing tower were retained.
