The Niedere Eichham ( 3247  m above sea level , sometimes 3249  m above sea level ) is a mountain peak of the Eichhamstock in the Venediger group in East Tyrol ( Austria ). It is located in the northwest of the municipality of Matrei in East Tyrol near the border with the municipality of Prägraten am Großvenediger . Neighboring peaks are the Hohe Eichham in the west, the Kuhhaut in the southwest, the Säulkopf in the southeast and the Große and Kleine Hexenkopf in the north. In contrast to the Hohen Eichham, the Niedere Eichham is rarely visited.

The Niedere Eichham is the pre-summit of the Hohen Eichham in the center of the Eichhamstock in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park . To the east of the valley of is ice sea with the Eisseehütte and Timmeltal , in the north-east the Löbbental with Baden's hut and to the east the Frosnitztal . The Niedere Eichham is connected to the Hohen Eichham ( 3371  m above sea level ) by the west ridge, with the Eastern Eichhamscharte ( 3210  m above sea level ) lying between the two peaks . The southeast ridge of the Niederen Eichham is the connecting ridge between the column head and the Hohem Eichham, with the Sailscharte ( 3080  m above sea level ) in between. Three glaciers meet at the Niederen Eichham. In the north is the Hexenkees, which stretches between the Witches Heads in the north and the Hohen and Niederen Eichham in the south. The Nilkees extends from the Hohen Eichham and Niederen Eichham in the north to the southeast, and the Säulkees is located between the Niederen Eichham and the column head.

Promotion opportunities

The normal route to the Niederen Eichham leads over the Säulkopf, after which one descends to the Nilkees and then the ascent takes place over the scree slope of the southwest flank, which extends to the summit.
