The Bergerseehütte , also called Berger-See-Hütte , is a private refuge in the Lasörling group (East Tyrol). It is located at 2181  m above sea level on the small Berger See.

history

At the beginning of 1950 the (old) Bergerseehütte was built by Alois Unterwurzacher and some volunteers from Prägraten. This first hut was mostly made of stone and clay. In 1956 this was also cultivated for the first time. However, due to health problems, Alois Unterwurzacher exchanged the hut for a house in Prägraten. The new owner was a relative of Alois Unterwurzacher, Johann Unterwurzacher. Due to the particularly profitable 1970s, a new hut was built mainly from wood in 1972/73. In 1974, the year it opened, there was also a major setback, because the owner Alois Unterwurzacher died four weeks before the official opening. So the hut was managed by a relative for nine years. In 1984 the hut was managed by Alois Unterwurzacher's son and daughter, Hansjörg and Monika Unterwurzacher. But since an avalanche had damaged the guest room, the hut was renovated and equipped with new sanitary facilities, sleeping places and a small hydroelectric power station with an output of 25 kW.

The next major renovation took place in 2010/11. The entire facade of the hut was insulated and newly clad. The dining room was redesigned and the kitchen enlarged. In addition, a sewage treatment plant was installed due to legal regulations.
