Gasthof Waldruhe in Marin

Marin is a hamlet in the municipality of Virgen ( East Tyrol ). The district was inhabited by 33 people in 1981 and is part of the Göriach fraction .

geography

Along with the Rotte Göriach and the remote All Saints Chapel, Marin is one of the three parts of the Göriach fraction. Marin is located at an altitude of 1,385 meters above or north of Obermauern and Göriach and is connected to both fractions by a road each. To the east of Marin lies the Rabenstein castle ruins , to the west is Budam . Marin is also connected to the Niljochalmen and the Gottschaunalm to the north via hiking trails or non-public roads. In 1981 Marin housed a total of five houses with six households. In 2013, the state of Tyrol recorded the farms Pötscher (Göriach-Marin No. 1), Untermariner (No. 2) and Ausser Mariner (No. 3 and No. 4) as well as another residential building (No. 6) for Marin.

history

Marin was named by Statistics Austria as early as the 19th century, but was also included in part for Göriach. In the course of the 1890 census, Marin was expelled separately, with the local component at that time consisting of five houses with 42 residents and classified as a Rotte. In 1923 the statisticians identified Marina as a hamlet with four houses and 33 inhabitants, in 1951 Marin had four houses and 37 inhabitants. In 1961 the statisticians for Marin also recorded four houses with 33 inhabitants this time, in 1981 there were five houses and also 33 inhabitants.

Buildings

In Marin there is the Josefskapelle, the youngest chapel in the municipality of Virgen.
