The Heidberg grammar school is a grammar school in the Hamburg district of Langenhorn , which was founded in 1970. The grammar school has been a certified “partner school for competitive sports ” and “ elite school for football ” since 2010 .
particularities
The grammar school has developed a concept in its school program according to which lessons in the lower and middle grades are offered in three different variants. When switching to this school, the pupils can choose whether they want to attend a “LOS”, a “FUN” or a “theater” class, with “LOS” for “performance-oriented physical education” and “FUN” for “interdisciplinary teaching” Nature ”is what corresponds to the focus of the individual areas.
The school cooperates with the Hamburger Sportverein (HSV) in the field of “Elite School of Football”, so that HSV players and its youth teams attend school or have graduated from high school here.
Another specialty are some of the subjects offered at the grammar school, which otherwise receive little attention in the Hamburg school landscape. For example, the students at the Heidberg grammar school have the option of offering geology in the compulsory elective area of class 10; Supplementary subject in the profile area "Dynamic Earth" (geography, geology, PGW).
The Heidberg high school has also been part of the MINT-EC network since summer 2016 and is in the process of expanding the scientific focus even more.
Technology AG
The stage technology working group (Technik-AG) has existed since 1997 , in which school pupils learn autodidactically how to use professional technical equipment from event technology and media technology .
It is not only important to deal with the technology, but also the planning and technical implementation of events. These are, for example, plays, concerts, discos, information events or sports and summer festivals.
For this purpose, the school has at its disposal a level of technical lighting and sound equipment that is above average for schools across Germany . This is operated by the students on their own responsibility and thus supports the independence and the sense of responsibility of the students.
The pupils from the seventh grade onwards can become members, later they have the chance to lead the working group and thus pass on their knowledge to younger members.
Competitions and Awards
Participation in the competitions “Students experiment” and “ Jugend forscht” has a long tradition at the Heidberg High School, because the first of the now almost 400 projects (as of spring 2017) were successfully supervised as early as 1979. The students between the ages of 10 and 20 participated in all seven subject areas (world of work, biology, chemistry, geo- and spatial sciences, mathematics / computer science, physics, technology).
In 2010, 2011 and 2013 the Heidberg grammar school was awarded the “Jugend forscht school prize”. In addition, “The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Culture of the Federal States in the Federal Republic of Germany” awarded the Heidberg high school with the 2nd prize in the competition for the 2012 Youth Research School in Germany.
Florentine Mostaghimi-Gomi and Ole Keim have received a very special award. At the 2016 federal competition in Ludwigshafen, you were awarded the Chancellor's Prize for your work in the field of geo and spatial sciences. Angela Merkel honored.
As part of the Jugend forscht competition, the team May-Britt Förster, Sabrina Ließ and Julika Riegert caused a sensation with their national victory in the field of geo and spatial sciences, so that they were invited to the Harald Schmidt Latenight Show.
