The Oldenfelde grammar school is a modern language and mathematics and natural science grammar school founded in Hamburg-Rahlstedt in 1970 . Since, in addition to the compulsory languages (German and English) and Latin, all Romance languages (French, Spanish, Italian) offered at Hamburg's grammar schools are taught, the school is of particular regional importance. The lessons are based on the double-hour principle and from year 9 onwards subject-specific and optionally also bilingual (English or French). In the course of the Hamburg school reform and with the introduction of the upper level profile , great importance is attached to interdisciplinary and multimedia work.

Furnishing

The school building, which only exists once in this construction in Hamburg, was built in 1970 and completely renovated in 2005. Another modernization measure took place in 2012 with the purchase of several interactive whiteboards and the installation of two large computer rooms. The main corridors lead into a break and multi-purpose hall, which is used for performance and event purposes.

Entrance to the Oldenfelde grammar school

The Gymnasium Oldenfelde operates several school libraries, where students from the lower to upper grades can borrow non-fiction and leisure time reading. A large number of working groups are offered, e.g. B. the Teich-AG as well as inclination courses, including a scientific internship. As part of the school policy project Promote instead of repeat (Hamburg was the first federal state to abolish sitting down), the Oldenfelde grammar school has established an extensive learning support program for students in grades 5 to 10 with learning difficulties. The artistic profile of the school is characterized by a lower, middle and upper school choir, class orchestras in grades 5 to 7, a school orchestra and a big band. As a mathematical and natural science grammar school, the Oldenfelde grammar school is responsible for offering a wide range of courses in natural sciences and computer science. The school regularly takes part in relevant competitions such as the Mathematics Olympiad, Natex and Jugend forscht . The Oldenfelde grammar school is a ProbEx and, from 2010 to 2017, a climate school. It has also been recognized as a “school with exemplary professional orientation 2015-2018”.

In the sense of an early and targeted professional orientation, a two-week professional internship takes place in class 9 and a two-week social internship in class 10. In the upper level there is a career information week and university days. The school community is supported by an alumni association (Alt-GOld) .
