The Alstertal grammar school is a grammar school in the Hamburg district of Fuhlsbüttel .

The school was originally founded in 1924 as the "Oberrealschule im Alstertal". In 1927 the building in which the school is still located was built based on a design by Fritz Schumacher . Most of the rooms are located in the listed Schumacher building. In 2015, a new building opens on Schlehdornweg, which complements the high school with a sports hall and classrooms for the lower grades. The old building was renovated in the 2015/2016 school year. During the renovation, some classes were housed in containers. The school is also known colloquially as GA for short.

The school is located on Erdkampsweg in Fuhlsbüttel between Schlehdorn- and Hermann-Löns-Weg. It shares a catchment area with the Hummelsbüttel grammar school and the Albert Schweitzer grammar school .

The school shares the Hermann-Löns sports field , which is adjacent to the school premises, with the SC Alstertal-Langenhorn .

The Alstertal grammar school cooperates in the upper level with the Albert Schweitzer grammar school and the Heidberg grammar school .
