The Othmarschen grammar school is a general education grammar school in the Hamburg district of Othmarschen .

history

The Othmarschen high school was founded in 1967. The first headmistress, Gertrud Moltmann, headed the grammar school from 1967 to 1987. Since 1973 there has been an upper school cooperation with the neighboring Hochrad grammar school .

After the Ernst-Schlee-Gymnasium was closed in 1997, the Othmarschen Gymnasium took over the sponsorship of the Ernst-Schlee school camp in Nieblum on Föhr .

There are partner schools in Barcelona and in Iskitim - Novosibirsk in Siberia .

architecture

The approximately 16,000 m² school grounds are located south of Walderseestrasse, between Droysenstrasse and Parkstrasse. The primary school Klein Flottbeker Weg connects to the south of the rear of the school grounds. High school and elementary school were planned together and built in a structural context. The Kreuzbau (series design by Paul Seitz ) dates back to the first construction phase and was built in 1960 for the primary school. The first school buildings intended solely for the grammar school were completed in 1973. These are typical series designs from the Hamburg Building Department, including three shoemaker- type class wings (type 65), buildings A, B and C. In 1980, more new buildings were added.

In 2003 a combined break hall and auditorium ("P-Aula") was opened, which is used together with the primary school. In 2010 a two-storey school wing for music and art lessons (“Künstlerhaus”) was built, the facade of which is designed with dark clinker brick and horizontal ribbon windows. The Künstlerhaus is adjacent to the existing specialist wing with which the building is connected. In 2013, the multi-purpose break hall was converted for all-day care. In the same year, the new construction of the primary school Klein Flottbeker Weg was completed, whereby the use of the space could be redistributed.
