Palazzo Zen ai Frari
Palazzo Zen ai Frari is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the San Polo sestiere with a view of the Rio di San Stin . The palace is located roughly in the middle between the Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Friari , the Venice State Archives and the Campo di San Stin .
history
The palace was built in the 15th century as the home of the Zeno family , who still own it today. In the following centuries it was rebuilt several times, but always kept its own style.
description
It is a Gothic palace with three floors and an L-shaped floor plan. The two main floors show the same window layout: in the middle a quadruple lancet window and two individual lancet windows on each side. All windows on the two main floors are provided with balusters .
The interiors are in the classical style, the work of Sebastiano Santi .
