Kirsten Boie
Kirsten Boie (born March 19, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a German writer and literary scholar from Hamburg.
Life
Boie attended the Elise-Averdieck-Gymnasium from 1960 and passed the Abitur at this girls' school. She studied German and English at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a state examination before doing her doctorate in literature on Bertolt Brecht's early prose . From 1978 to 1983 she taught first at the Oldenfelde High School and later at the Mümmelmannsberg Comprehensive School in Hamburg. With the adoption of her first child, she had to give up teaching at the request of the youth welfare office. But because her life plan had always included both family and work, she began to write. Her first book, Paule ist ein Glücksgriff , was published in 1985 and was an immediate success.
Numerous series written by her are particularly popular, such as the stories from the Möwenweg , Lena (a girl of elementary school age), Juli (a boy of kindergarten age) or King Kong . She has published around 100 books that have been translated into various languages.
Many of their texts were published in audio versions. Some were placed on the hr2 audio book best list (including Nella-Propella , Seeräubermoses and Wir Kinder aus dem Möwenweg ) or on the best list for the German Record Critics' Prize ( Der kleine Ritter Trenk , Alhambra ).
Your series Ritter Trenk was adapted as an animated series and a movie. Just like The Little Knight Trenk , Wir Kinder aus dem Möwenweg ran as an animation series on KiKA .
In 2006/07 Boie received a teaching position ( poetry professorship ) at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg . She has been a member of the PEN Center Germany since 2017 .
Kirsten Boie was the patron of the children's book house in Hamburg.
