Nadine Reitz

Nadine Reitz (born July 22, 1976 in Hennigsdorf ) is a German illustrator of children's and picture books , graphic artist and author .

Life

Nadine Reitz, born in the summer of 1976, grew up in a rural area in Vehlefanz, northwest of Berlin. She studied media informatics in Berlin and has been working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer "after a few professional detours" since 2011.

Since then Reitz has illustrated numerous children's books and picture book series, including the four-volume series Kati and Azuro by Anna Benzing, the five-volume series Mitmachpappen by Sophie Schoenwald and several cardboard picture books with themes from the animal world by Lena Kleine Bornhorst. She also illustrated three volumes of the adventure series on the Möwenweg by Kirsten Boie and the cover pages of the booklets of four audio CDs with radio plays for children by Karsten Schäfer. By April 2020, more than 20 children's books, which she helped design, had been published.

Aside from her usual subject areas, Reitz designed the dust jacket for Biggi Mestmäcker's non-fiction book Umweg Jakarta in 2017 , which describes the resistance and difficulties encountered in reuniting a Syrian refugee's family in Germany. They also participated in the action illustrators for Refugees , in many illustrators on a website people who work with refugee children or children with a migrant background, own designs as templates for coloring, puzzles and learning under a copyleft - license free for download put.

In March 2020 Reitz published her first book as the author, entitled “The Night Before Easter”.

The artist is a member of the VG Bild-Kunst and the professional association Illustrators Organization .

Private

Reitz is married and lives with her family in Viersen on the Lower Rhine .
