Book favorite

The book favorite is an Austrian literary prize that has been awarded annually since 2006 and is awarded in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture , WKO Fachverband Buch- und Medienwirtschaft, ORF Confetti TiVi . The prize is awarded every year on World Book Day , April 23rd, in numerous categories (see below). It is an audience award : all bookstores in Austria are invited to display voting cards. Numerous schools across Austria are also invited to participate. So the price reflects the reading taste of Austria quite representative. In 2010 the voting mode was changed. The booksellers nominated their 10 candidates per category. Readers were able to cast one vote per category for the ten titles most frequently mentioned in Austria. In addition to the nomination lists, there was a free category “Joker”, which was divided into the areas of youth and adults .
