Private life

Haider, as a well-known television presenter and actor, came out as a homosexual in 1997 in order, as he said, to anticipate a planned outing . Today he does not regret this, but would no longer do it, especially to protect his family and partner (Haider's mother was abused by a stranger because of his homosexuality).

Haider had a twin sister who has since passed away.
