Ingrid Pernkopf

Ingrid Pernkopf (born July 26, 1959 in Gmunden ; † August 16, 2016 there ) was an Austrian cook , landlady and cookbook author .

Life

Ingrid Pernkopf grew up in her parents 'inn and grandparents' farm in Gmunden. She graduated from the hotel management school in St. Pölten and then trained as a cook and waiter. In 1989 she and her husband took over their parents' hotel and guest house Grünberg am See in Gmunden, which she expanded into one of the most renowned inns in the Salzkammergut. After being discovered by Christoph Wagner as an author, she published several cookbooks, including successful titles such as Upper Austrian Cuisine and Knödelküche . Furthermore, she had some television appearances as a cook and she passed on her knowledge in cooking courses. Upper Austria's regional councilor for agriculture, Maximilian Hiegelsberger, paid tribute to her as a bridge builder for the community of hosts on Lake Traunsee and an important culinary ambassador .

Pernkopf was married and had two children. Her grave is at the Gmunden city cemetery.
