Andreas Salcher (born December 18, 1960 in Vienna ) is a former politician of the ÖVP , co-founder of the Sir Karl Popper School , advisor and author .

biography

1986 Andreas Salcher received his doctorate in business administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business . His dissertation is entitled "Strategic Organizational Development: A System-Oriented Management Concept for Implementing Long-Term Change Strategies". In 1989 he completed the "Program for Senior Managers in Government" at Harvard University .

Salcher began his political career in 1985 as chairman of the young ÖVP Vienna. In 1987 he was elected the youngest member of the Vienna State Parliament, to which he was a member for a total of 12 years. From 1992 to 1996 Salcher was deputy state party leader of the ÖVP. Under City Councilor for Culture Peter Marboe , he was appointed chairman of the City of Vienna's Culture Committee. In 2005, Andreas Salcher left the Vienna City Council .

After a personal meeting with Karl Popper, the former state school spokesman and deputy national school spokesman founded the first Austrian school for gifted students together with Bernhard Görg in 1998. To this day, Salcher is the executive vice-president of the Association for the Promotion of the Sir Karl Popper School, which sees itself as a learning system that makes mistakes, admits them, reflects them and tries to improve them according to the principle of trial and error .

Andreas Salcher has been running a consulting company since 1997. In his projects he combines the ancient wisdom teachings of mankind with modern management concepts.

In 2004 he founded the Waldzell Institute together with Gundula Maria Schatz , which organized the Waldzell Meetings annually from 2004 to 2008 . In 2007 Salcher left the organization. In the same year he initiated the global education project "The Curriculum Project - Creating the Schools of Tomorrow" with the aim of reinventing the school of tomorrow with the best minds in the world. The focus is on the right to life of every child in the world to develop their talents. Salcher's first work on this subject, The Talented Student and His Enemies , was awarded the Golden Book of the Main Association of the Austrian Book Trade in September 2008 . 2009 Salcher was the book favorite for "Author of the Year" and "communicator of the year" of the Public Relations Association Austria selected. In 2012 two works by Andreas Salcher with the title My Last Hour and Never More School - More and More Joy were published . In the same year, both The Wounded Man and My Last Hour were awarded the platinum book by the Main Association of the Austrian Book Trade for more than 50,000 copies sold in Vienna. In 2014 he was awarded the book favorite in the business category for Know yourself and not scare.
