The golden book (book trade price)

The Golden Book is an award ceremony of the Main Association of the Austrian Book Trade since 1994, comparable to the Golden Record . The recipients of the Golden Book include Thomas Brezina , Erich Kästner and Franz Sales Sklenitzka .

You can receive the award if you have sold more than 25,000 copies of a title in Austria (as of 2009). As of 2019, more than 15,000 copies of a title sold within one year in Austria are required for the award of the Golden Book and 25,000 copies for the platinum book.

Appearance

The golden book is made of pewter with a brass paint overlay, but looks like it is made of gold.
