Bernhard Görg
Bernhard Görg (born February 9, 1942 in Horn ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ), manager and writer . He was between 1996 and 2001 Deputy Mayor and Governor -Stellvertreter of Vienna.
education and profession
Görg graduated from the Bundesgymnasium in Krems an der Donau and studied history and Latin (1963) and law (1967) at the University of Vienna . Since 1966 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KÖStV Austria Vienna in the ÖCV . From 1968 Görg worked at IBM Austria, from 1972 to 1974 as head of personnel planning at IBM Europe in Paris , from 1974 to 1977 as personnel director at IBM Eastern Europe in Vienna and from 1977 to 1986 as personnel director and member of the executive board at IBM Austria. From 1986 to 1992 Görg was managing director of the Neumann consulting group in Vienna.
politics
In 1991 he ran for the ÖVP federal party chairman against Erhard Busek , but lost. From September 1992 to June 2002 Görg was regional party leader of the People's Party in Vienna and from 1996 to 2001 he held the office of the city council for planning and future as well as vice mayor and deputy governor of Vienna. After the ÖVP left the state government, Görg was the club chairman of the People's Party in the Vienna state parliament and local council from April 2001 to June 2002.

After leaving politics, Görg wrote several plays. How does John Wayne get into the old people's home (2006), Die Annonce (2008) and Schlitzohren (2012) premiered in Vienna's Gloria-Theater , while Wendehhals und Kaltenfisch (2010) premiered in the Theater-Center-Forum. He then wrote the detective novels Liebe Grüße aus der Wachau (2015), The Eternal Vow (2016) and Dürnsteiner Würfelspiel (2018).
