Life

Christopher Paolini was born in Southern California on November 17, 1983, but grew up in Paradise Valley , Montana with his parents and younger sister Angela. He never went to a public school, but was tutored by his parents. His love for fantasy led him to write a story called Eragon at the age of 15 ; however, he never thought of publishing it. When he gave the book to his parents to read after two years, they printed it in their own family publisher ( Paolini International LLC ).

The following year, the Paolinis roamed the United States to promote the book in schools, libraries, and bookstores. In the summer of 2002, Carl Hiaasen , an American journalist and writer, discovered the book and made his publisher Alfred A. Knopf aware of it. He bought the rights to Eragon and on August 26, 2003 the first volume was published. The German translation was published on April 22, 2004. Volume two followed in Germany on October 25, 2005 and volume three on October 25, 2008. On November 19, 2011, the fourth volume in the series was published in German-speaking countries.

In 2007 the audio book Eragon - The Order of the Elder was awarded the German Fantastic Prize for the best audio book / radio play of the year. In 2006 his first volume was filmed by 20th Century Fox with the title Eragon - The Legacy of the Dragon Riders . The film received mostly mediocre reviews and in many ways did not match the book.

At the end of December 2018, Christopher Paolini published The Fork, the Witch and the Worm. the first book from the world of Eragon after the fourth volume was published in 2011. It tells three stories from Alagaësia, one was written by his sister Angela Paolini.

Paolini's first science fiction novel will be published in September 2020 under the title INFINITUM - Die Ewigkeit der Sterne .
