Karin Ammerer (born December 30, 1976 in Hartberg ) is an Austrian children's book author .

Life

She studied teaching English, history, typing and integration at the Pedagogical Academy in Graz .

She lives with her husband Ewald Ammerer and their two children Nina and Phillip in Eastern Styria . In addition to her professional activity in adult education, she began to write guessing thriller for children. Due to the increasing number of reading requests, she decided in 2006 to be a full-time writer.

Her aim is to use these very short stories to make reading more palatable to young people. This takes place in that the children appear as co-investigators in the stories and try to solve the cases together with the main character, Inspector Sniff . Her husband Ewald Ammerer took over the role of inspector sniff at the workshops.

Since 2003, found children's literature Wien their events to the crime on the trail instead of where it forms the kids to junior detectives. Subsequently, she toured Styria and later all of Austria with these workshops and reading tours. Her reading trips now also take her to Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

In September 2009 the book "We win together! Football connects" was published, which deals with football and integration. The book was staged together with Ivica Vastić . A joint PR tour through Austria followed.

In addition to guessing thriller, Karin Ammerer also writes for the reading train - the Austrian first reading series . She is also one of the two authors of the series " The Pony Clique - Horse Friendship Adventure ". The series " BFC - Best friends club " invented by Ammerer is about three girls who are best friends and who deal with all kinds of problems together. The first two books were published in autumn 2011. In "Daddy cool" the BFC tries to get Kathi's parents back together. The breakup - this much is clear to the girls - only happened because dad is too uncool. A "coolness training" begins with a surprising end. Ammerer dedicated this book to her father. Volume 2 "Love - or what?" is about Kathi's first love and the associated lovesickness, which almost destroyed the BFC and volume 3 "Superstar wanted" accompanies the thirty-second Italian Steffi in her plan to become a real superstar. The special thing about the books is that after the story a child psychologist gives tips to the readers. For example, Volume 1 deals with dealing with separation and divorce.

In November 2011, Karin Ammerer and co-author and downhill Olympic champion Fritz Strobl presented the first volume from the series Fritz Blitz - Snowcat adventures with the subtitle "Attack of the Pistenpiraten". This is a fantasy adventure by the snow cat Fritz Blitz, supplemented by a real part with news, records and much more.

In 2012 the soccer book "Basti storms los" followed, which Ammerer wrote together with Sturm Graz record player Mario Haas . Here, too, a story is followed by a non-fiction book section in which Haas shares tips and tricks.
