Lorenz Maierhofer

Lorenz Maierhofer (born September 29, 1956 in Feldbaum ) is a composer , songwriter , author and international speaker.

Life

After studying in Graz , Maierhofer worked for many years as a music and choir teacher , as a lecturer and lecturer in teacher and choir director training. Since 2002 he has devoted himself exclusively to his compositional work, he lives as a freelance artist in Kirchberg ad Raab in Styria. He leads several professional vocal ensembles for studio productions and world premieres (CANTO LOMA, Multicultural Voices, WHAT4 and others)

His compositional work is characterized by a great stylistic breadth - with contemporary and historical sound languages ​​as well as those of jazz , gospel and alpine folk music . His oeuvre as a composer ranges from scenic stage work to contemporary sound collages, from string quartet to vocal composition. Lorenz Maierhofer is the editor of a comprehensive complete work on music and choir education, his books are among the standard works for schools and choirs in German-speaking countries.
