Body experience is the totality of all experiences with one's own body acquired in the course of development . Body experiences can be cognitive as well as affective and both conscious and unconscious. Body experience in the narrower sense arises from dealing with one's own body in connection with movement, which is also referred to as movement experience . The body experience is part of the body memory as well as self-awareness and partly overlaps with body experience .

To intensify development-promoting physical experiences is one of the essential goals of school sport and sport education in general. In the therapeutic area, the targeted stimulation of body experiences is a central component of motopedia and psychomotor skills . In addition to improving movement skills, physical experience also contributes to personality formation and identity development , as independence , self-confidence and individuality are trained and intensified.
