Martin Puntigam (* 1969 in Graz ) is an Austrian artist , cabaret artist and actor .

Life

Martin Puntigam was born in Graz and spent his youth there. He initially studied medicine at the University of Graz from 1987 , but then turned to cabaret from 1989. Martin Puntigam now lives in Vienna with his wife and two children . His brother, the actor Stefan Puntigam , directed his solo program “Luziprack”.

Career

Since 1989 he has presented twelve solo programs so far. The first, through and through (1989), was awarded the Grazer Kleinkunstvogel . In 2015, he and Matthias Egersdörfer received the Austrian Cabaret Award for the duo program Redemption .

Martin Puntigam is the author of the plays Tod im Hallenturnschuhlager (1993) and Teufelsgschichten und Zaubersachen (2008). He is one of the authors of the television program Sendung ohne Namen on ORF (30 episodes in the years 2002 to 2007). Author and designer of the radio column Mr Martin recommends the following on the radio station Ö3 of the ORF (1993 to 1995) and on the youth radio station FM4 of the ORF: Betthupferl, FM3000, Wochenschau, ombudsman, hiking day.

He played in the following plays: Twice fickleness by Marivaux (1992), When the saints go cycling in by Flann O'Brien (1995), Austria's greatest entertainer by Thomas Gratzer, Jochen Herdieckerhoff , directed by Helmut Schödel in the Rabenhof Theater (2002) .

Puntigam was the leading actor in the movie Yellow Cherries (2001) directed by Leopold Lummerstorfer . He took part in the Vienna Weeks of Bad Taste (1998) and in Aufwingt am Saturday (2000).

Science Busters (2007)

He founded in 2007 with the physicists Heinz Oberhummer and Werner Gruber , the science cabaret Science Busters . The shows, which are also shown on ORF , are intended to bring natural science closer in an understandable and entertaining way. The Science Busters also present a weekly radio column on ORF's FM4 youth radio station and have published several popular science books and audio books. Since the death of Heinz Oberhummer in November 2015 and the departure of Werner Gruber, the Science Busters have appeared in a different constellation. Martin Puntigam will continue to lead the shows.
