Robert Heinrich Palfrader (born November 11, 1968 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , actor and author . He became known through the impersonation of the fictional character Emperor Robert Heinrich I in the satirical show We are Emperor .

Life

At the age of 20, Robert Palfrader worked as Chef de Rang at the Vienna Marriott Hotel . Later he ran the Café Torberg in Josefstadt , where the establishment in the hospitality industry is a tradition in his family, as Palfrader's mother and siblings own a sausage stand in the 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt . Through his South Tyrolean father he is related to the ski professionals Manuela and Manfred Mölgg .

Palfrader worked as a presenter at Wien 1 and as an author, designer and performer of the ORF program Die kranken Schwestern . He also worked as an editor for the ORF program Champion . At the side of Dodo Roscic , he also hosted the Top Spot Gala on May 6, 2004 . Together with Marion Mitterhammer , Oliver Baier and others, he was on stage from January to April 2007 in the Rabenhof Theater in Vienna in the play Galanacht by and with Werner Schneyder .

After that, he appeared in comedies like really bold , Undercover and Die liebe Familie NG . In 2007 he started his comedy talk show Wir sind Kaiser , for which he received a Golden Romy in 2008 and 2010 . In 2008 he was seen in the last episode of the television series Trautmann in the role of the perpetrator. In the same year he played Oskar in Ödön von Horváth's Tales from the Vienna Woods at the Volkstheater . Together with Florian Scheuba , he presented the cabaret program Men for the Rough at the end of the same year .

In 2010 he played a leading role in the television film Tante Herthas Rindsrouladen for the first time and the title role in Liliom by Ferenc Molnár at the Volkstheater . For several years he has been working as a copywriter and conceptualist at various advertising agencies. On April 16, 2011, Robert Palfrader received his fourth Romy. In 2012 published series Brown beat of David Schalko he plays the mayor Gerhard Tschach a small, highly indebted community. For this role, Palfrader was recognized as the best actor at the US film festival Indie Fest . In 2013, he played the unpopular school director Höpfl in the crime comedy Dampfnudelblues , in Gerhard Polt's film Und Äktschn! the "Martin Bormann".

From 2011 to 2017 Robert Palfrader was one of the three state artists in the series Wir Staatskünstler with Florian Scheuba and Thomas Maurer . In January 2018 he presented his first solo cabaret entitled Alone in the Rabenhof Theater in Vienna.

Robert Palfrader has a son and a daughter.
