action

Anna Molnar is an eccentric actress who is in crisis. She is at the lowest point of her career. The supposed man of her life, her partner and "theater director" Laszlo, cheats on her in the cloakroom with a colleague on the day of her premiere. In this situation, Anna only sees alcohol and pills as the solution. As a result, she falls asleep during the performance, which has to be stopped because of her. With the handsome firefighter Christian, a new man enters Anna's life. He followed the debacle in his role as fire protection officer from the side stage. Christian takes the semi-comatose actress to the hospital, where Anna approaches the somewhat strange doctor Dr. Martin meets.

The next day, Laszlo puts her in front of the door. Due to her debts, she is forced to move in with her sex-addicted father Wolf, who is cheating on his wife Barbara. After the professional and private crash, Anna tries to get back on her feet and is urgently looking for a job, such as a magician's assistant or television. Fireman Christian did it to her, but somehow it doesn't really work out between the two, especially since they come from different backgrounds and Christian also has private problems. His wife Monika wants to take away custody of their daughter.

After Wolf's company went bankrupt, his wife Barbara announced that she was getting a divorce. However, due to an operation for a tumor on the testicle, she reversed her decision. One day Monika appears at the fire brigade headquarters and announces Christian that he does not want to get a divorce. However, Christian no longer wants to be with her. After the release of a television film with Anna in the lead role, she is able to repay Laszlo her debts for the costs he incurred due to the omitted performance. At Laszlo's request, Anna returns to the Theater in der Josefstadt as an actress . Christian is getting a divorce, Anna and he become a couple for good.

reception

Magdalena Miedl wrote in the Salzburger Nachrichten that it was a warm-hearted and funny film, "which, in contrast to the author, clearly understands the line between a welcome line-up and humiliating assault . " She praised the members of the ensemble who did their best "with enthusiasm for playing and a flair for comedy in sometimes impossible accents" . The Tiroler Tageszeitung said that Sabine Derflinger's film based on Nina Proll's script would only appear to be a film about the #MeToo debate at first glance .

ORF.at, the online platform of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation , described the film as a 'flirting comedy', which is not a serious contribution to the virulent gender debate: “The portrait of the actress who is hungry for life and love (...) is not consistent - what Proll's current interference in the "#MeToo" debate only makes it all the more obvious. "

Katrin Nussmayr described the film in the daily newspaper Die Presse as flat clothes that are blunt and consciously sexist. The “typically masculine-sexualized view of the female body” would be countered by a female view that “is just as clumsy and objectifying” and culminates in a parade of stripping fire brigade calendar pin-up boys in the steamy nightclub. In the midst of clichés and flat dialogues, some actors would at least please, such as Robert Palfrader and Markus Schleinzer. On the online platform of the daily newspaper Der Standard , the film is criticized for being “technically hard-working and exhibiting its rough abuse”.
