MR film

MR Film is an Austrian film production company based in Vienna . The best-known and most successful productions include the television series Kaisermühlen Blues (1992–1999) and MA 2412 (1998–2002) as well as the feature films MA 2412 - Die Staatsdiener (2003) and Falco - Damn, we're still alive! (2008).

history

The company was founded in 1967 by Kurt J. Mrkwicka in Vienna and mainly produces television series, documentaries and films. Films are also produced at irregular intervals. The greatest audience success in Austrian cinemas to date was achieved in 2003 with MA 2412 - Die Staatsdiener (2003), which, with around 273,000 visitors, is the fifth most popular Austrian film in Austria since the count began in 1981.

In November 2017 it was announced that Munich-based Beta Film would like to take over 51 percent of the shares in MR Film from Jan Mojto , although the approval of the antitrust authorities was still pending.
