Nikolaus Leytner

Nikolaus Leytner (born October 26, 1957 in Graz ) is an Austrian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Nikolaus Leytner was born in Graz on October 26, 1957. From 1977 to 1984 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna , film and television department, directing with Alfons Stummer and Axel Corti and screenwriting with Harald Zusanek . Since 1984 he has been working as a freelance writer and director in Vienna. In 1989 he co-founded the Austrian film production company Allegro Film . In 2000 he staged Die Nervensäge at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna.

In 2009 Nikolaus Leytner founded the Academy of Austrian Films together with other Austrian filmmakers .
