Der Tote am Teich is an Austrian television film from the country crime film series from 2015 by Nikolaus Leytner with Josef Hader , Maria Hofstätter and Miriam Fussenegger in the leading roles.

action

Bohemian Forest , Upper Austria in the middle of winter. Retired police officer Sepp Ahorner goes on a morning tour to check his wildlife cameras. He discovered a corpse on the frozen village pond. The dead man is Jakob Prantner from Linz, who spent his vacation with Sepp's cousin Geli Pfoser. An old friend of Sepp, Commissioner Grete Öller from the Linz criminal investigation department , and her young colleague Lisa Nemeth take over the case.

Since the villagers are not very communicative to the two inspectors, they are repeatedly dependent on Sepp's investigations. The first suspicion falls on Herbert Mayer. This had caught his wife Miriam on the eve of the murder with Prantner in the cowshed. The autopsy then shows that the victim was not only killed with an ice stick, but was previously poisoned with the bean from the miracle tree. In the end it turns out that two cousins of Sepps were responsible for the death of Prantner.
