Steirerblut is an Austrian television film from 2014 from the ORF country crime film series . Directed by Wolfgang Murnberger , Miriam Stein can be seen in the main role as inspector Sandra Mohr . The film is based on the 2011 debut novel by the author Claudia Rossbacher of the same name .
action
The young inspector Sandra Mohr from the Graz State Criminal Police Office is investigating the murder of journalist Eva Kovacs in the small town of St. Anna in Styria together with her superior Bergmann . Mohr grew up there and left the place because of an argument with her family. The corrupt local mayor Leitgeb, whom Kovacs had just researched, appears suspect. The local policeman Max Leitgeb, nephew of the mayor and former friend Mohrs, thwarted the investigation by suppressing the victim's cell phone and laptop. A DNA trace, according to a general examination, only leads to a corpse molester . As a result of his testimony, Sandra's convicted brother Mike also becomes a suspect, as the convict saw him drive away in her car on the evening of the crime, accompanied by Eva Kovacs. Max Leitgeb tries in vain to end up with Sandra Mohr again and invites her twice to his home for dinner. He tells Mohr about the cell phone he has found and uses a voice message to find out that her brother is innocent.
In the end, only the "Zur Eiche" inn, where Kovacs lived and where the investigators are housed, remains as the crime scene. Sandra discovers that a trophy is missing in the dining room and confronts the innkeeper, Sonnleitner. Finally it turns out that the waitress Franzi, Sandra's friend, who was abused by her father as a teenager, killed Eva Kovacs out of jealousy with the trophy after she caught red-handed having sex with her fiancé, the young landlord of the inn would have. The landlord and his mother took care of the removal of the corpse. Before the arrest, Franzi fled home, put on her wedding dress and cycled to the church, where she confessed everything to Mohr.

Reviews
On the occasion of the first broadcast of the film on German television, the television magazine TV Spielfilm found that Steirerblut "turns out to be a humorous, humorous provincial tragedy clad with lots of black humor".
“As is so often the case in detective novels and films, the LKA duo Mohr and Bergmann are an unequal couple who have to pull themselves together to advance the investigation. Unfortunately, this is not particularly innovative, but it has the advantage of representing character relationships through points of friction. The interaction between the young, idealistic policewoman and the hard-nosed, pragmatic chief inspector is also quite successful. (...) In addition, some characters make an exaggerated impression. (...) Credible local color is definitely there. (...) Although it is possible to keep the story at an interesting level throughout, the great tension rarely sets in. "
