Brothers II

Brothers III - On the Way of St. James is an Austrian film from 2006 . The film is a tragicomedy and the third part of an Austrian film - trilogy , in collaboration with ARTE was produced. The first two parts are brothers from 2002 and brothers II from 2003.

Ernst Stadler is honored by the mayor with the Golden Cross of Merit of the City of Vienna for his services as host of a gourmet program, his brother Ludwig gives the laudation. Although the youngest brother's former partner recently passed away, Adrian (shit) is also present at the award ceremony. He is in a crisis of meaning and is looking for a solution on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela . Ludwig (Wickerl) thinks Adrian wanted to end our trip in Finisterre (end of the world) suicide commit. In order to prevent this and to protect his “little” brother, Ludwig, who is badly ill, accompanies him without being asked. When Ernst is involved in a cocaine affair and his show is withdrawn from television, he meets his brothers in Spain. On the way they get to know the 75-year-old Dutchman Arie ( Dolf de Vries ). He's been on the road since Utrecht .

On the way together, everyone experiences for themselves the meaning of the Camino de Santiago on the rest of the journey and makes their own findings: Adrian walks fully motivated from the start. Ludwig suffers a circulatory collapse and has to spend a few days in the hospital. Ernst soon takes off his white suit, throws away his aluminum suitcase, puts on the right equipment and seriously begins to deal with the path. Through the shared experiences on the way, the three brothers find each other again and arrive together in Santiago de Compostela .

The film was produced in 2006 by Dor Film , directed by Wolfgang Murnberger and based on a script by Uli Brée and Rupert Henning . The music comes from Anton Burger, Peter Kaizar and Otto Lechner. The television film was first broadcast on May 10, 2006 by ORF . The broadcaster released the film on DVD together with the others. Repetitions followed at arte and BR .
