Andreas Schreitmüller
Andreas Schreitmüller (born May 15, 1956 in Konstanz ) is editor- in- chief at ARTE and honorary professor for media studies at the University of Konstanz .
Life
Schreitmüller studied linguistics at the Universities of Konstanz and Manchester . In 1980/81 he was a lecturer at the Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, then from 1981 to 1983 deputy director of the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen . As an editor at ZDF , he was responsible for numerous documentaries and feature films as well as video essays, science programs and live broadcasts from 1984 to 1991. In 1992 he received his doctorate with the dissertation "Film Title".
Schreitmüller has been working for the European cultural TV channel ARTE in Strasbourg since 1991 , initially as head of the TV film editorial team, and since 2000 also as head of the feature film department. After teaching positions at the Universities of Marburg, Konstanz, Siegen and at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg , he was appointed honorary professor for media studies at the University of Konstanz in October 2000 .
Andreas Schreitmüller is a member of the German Academy of Performing Arts , the French Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma , the European Film Academy and a founding member of the German Academy for Television .
In 2011 he was appointed Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture, Frédéric Mitterrand .
