action
Richy and Tom, Viennese petty criminals , flee in a car after a break-in in Munich and an argument with their friend Charly. When this breaks down with engine failure, they kidnap a small tour group in an old coach. But this is not an ordinary tour group, but a mourning tour group that tries to learn to deal with their pain through this journey. But not only the travelers have problems, the tour guide also wants to deal with her possible separation from her husband and company boss Anders with this trip to the mountains. She is therefore emotionally battered herself, but can professionally hide it behind her work, after all, she is a trained grief therapist.
Charly, who feels cheated out of his share of the booty, pursues his accomplices. Anders also learns at the travel agency that something with the tour is not going as planned, but attributes it to a defiant reaction from his wife. He also takes up the chase with a company car, with Charly hiding in his car at a gas station. In the coach, it is now becoming clear to everyone that Richy, the older of the two kidnappers, is injured and bleeding profusely. Tour guide Irma uses his weakness to send her husband Peter a message. Although all the cell phones were collected, she had a second one with her, which Richy now notices. He instructs Tom to toss it on a tractor trailer that is passing by. Since Peter follows the cell phone signal, he loses direct contact with the group and only finds the bus again after a long journey.
In flashbacks, the viewer learns the fate of the members of the mourning group. Christa was a lifelong consultation assistant in the practice of her husband, who died a year ago. Now she is trying to reorganize her life, which she still has not been able to do.
Hilde has been a widow for six months and suffers from the fact that her ex-husband does not even “belong” to her after his death, because his new wife not only relaxed her husband, but also forbade her to mourn his grave. To make matters worse, he had just decided to part with her again and return to Hilde. Disappointed with life, angry and bitter, she can hardly shake anything now. She is the one who puts up the most resistance to the kidnappers.
Harry mourns the loss of his dog Emely, but doesn't dare to tell the others, but invents stories about himself and his "wife".
Helmut mourns his wife, who he lost seven months ago, and hopes to find a new wife through these mourning journeys.
Miriam lost her husband in a motorcycle accident 8 months ago and is still extremely sad about it. Tom feels sorry for the young woman and tries to comfort her while driving. Overall, the kidnappers come into conversation more and more with the travelers and a certain level of understanding develops for one another. It even goes so far that Richy allows Irma to work through one point of her therapy program for the group. Richy notices that something is bothering Irma. Finally, she opens up and tells tearfully that she recently lost a baby for the second time and that her husband only mourned the fact that her breasts had swollen again.
The longer the journey, the worse it is for Richy. He writes his will in favor of his brother Tom. Everyone concerned is very concerned about their kidnapper, so the bus stops with Tom's approval and Christa calls an ambulance. Her pursuers watch the stop and Charly threatens Peter with a gun. Both approach the bus and now Charly demands the bag with the money. As Tom is holding his dying brother in his arms, Harry gets the kidnapper's bag from the bus. Charly then sets off with the prey. Before the ambulance and the police arrive, Hilde clarifies her situation. Since only two kidnappers are wanted, they should agree that one has just died and the other is on the run with the prey. Since Tom had only driven the getaway car, he wouldn't actually have harmed anyone. While Tom is fleeing into the forest on foot, Charly is stopped by the police, but the travel bag does not contain any loot ...
Four weeks later the tour group makes up for their planned trip to the mountains and this time Tom is there too, who not only wants to deal with the loss of his brother, but has also made friends with Miriam.

Reviews
Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv said: The filmmakers manage “the trick of telling a basically sad story consistently as a comedy . In the course of the journey, all participants, including the gangsters, give deep insights into their soul. The film tells a story with a high potential for identification, after all, almost everyone has lost a loved one at some point, and there are indeed moments that go to the heart. Nevertheless, thanks to the relaxed music, 'Nothing to lose' never becomes a drama of sensitivity. This is ensured not least by Georg Friedrich, who, as the spokesman for the criminals, has by far the most biting dialogues. "
Sidney Schering assessed the following for Oddsmeter.de : One recognizes in the course of the film “the creeping process with a staging calm and naturalness through which the acting and the dialogues, and thus the character development, come to the fore - and not the plot structure. This is loosened up by a subplot about a third crook who chases after the half-brother duo. It's just a shame that the cumbersome, sad film music, even if it is only used sparingly, sometimes overwhelms this smart, sensitive dramedy. "
Matthias Hannemann from the FAZ said: “Many gags are [...] surprisingly shallow, as difficult as it is to find a balance on this topic. Bringing the audience closer to the audience emotionally - that's difficult for the production. Only Miriam, the inconsolable [...], is gradually gaining shape. […] Overall, there would have been more, but the thematically coherent, even original finish of the film doesn't make up for it. But he comforts. "
The Frankfurter Rundschau said: “This film is a real pleasure for all viewers who are convinced that they already know every story. There may be certain parallels to the film adaptations of Monika Peetz's novels about Tuesday women, but Ruth Toma enriches the framework [...] with a very crucial component: that of the criminals. "This" small deviation from the scheme is enough to turn the subgenre against the To brush the line, because the typical self-discovery topic now appears in a completely different light. "
