Michael Alexander Grimm (born July 20, 1970 in Munich ) is a German film and theater actor and voice actor .

Life

education

Michael Alexander Grimm completed his training as a graduate actor at the Bavarian Theater Academy . He then belonged to the ensemble of the Bavarian State Theater from 1997 to 2001 . Until 2004 he was on the stage of the Hessian State Theater in Kassel . In his private life, the actor plays several instruments and is trained in Far Eastern sports such as the Japanese sword martial art Iaido .

Movie and TV

Grimm has appeared in film and television productions since the mid-1990s. He made his first appearances in the movies Merry Christmas by Christian Cariot, Winterreise by Hans Steinbichler and TKKG , directed by Tomy Wiegand. In 2006 he got the role in Marcus H. Rosenmüller's movie comedy Schwere Jungs as bobsledder "Franzl", who won the gold medal at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo. The film In aller Stille (2010) was awarded the Grimme Prize in 2011 . In the television production Die Seelen im Feuer (2014), based on the historical novel of the same name by Sabine Weigand , about the witch hunt in the Bamberg area, Grimm played the Jesuit Father Peter Kircher (1593–1629), one of the positive main characters. In the literary film adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank , which was shot in spring 2015 and released in cinemas on March 3, 2016, Grimm plays the warehouse worker Willem van Maaren, who is considered one of the possible traitors of the Jews in hiding.
