The duo is a German crime series that was produced by TV60Filmproduktion ( Sven Burgemeister ) for ZDF . The main role was taken on by the Swiss actress Charlotte Schwab as Chief Detective Marion Ahrens, who initially investigated alongside Ann-Kathrin Kramer alias Lizzy Krüger and later alongside Lisa Martinek alias Clara Hertz. From 2002 to 2012, a total of 24 episodes were broadcast at irregular intervals.

background

The series takes place in Lübeck and the surrounding area. At the side of Chief Detective Marion Ahrens, Detective Superintendent Lizzy Krüger investigated in the first eleven episodes, and Detective Superintendent Clara Hertz from episode twelve.

Lisa Martinek's role as Detective Superintendent Clara Hertz became - like the actress herself at the time of filming in summer 2010 - pregnant in the love and death case .

In August 2012 it was announced that the last case in the series would be broadcast in September with the episode Dead Lie Better . The broadcaster justified this decision with the statement that those involved wanted to break new ground.

In 2016, after the series was discontinued in 2012 with Solo für Weiss , in which Anna Maria Mühe plays the role of LKA target investigator Nora Weiss, another ZDF crime film series was shown on German television.

characters

Marion Ahrens

Chief Detective Marion Ahrens is deeply connected to her hometown of Lübeck. She always leads the investigation into the cases. Ahrens is Lizzy Krüger and Clara Hertz's line manager. Ahrens' husband Viktor Ahrens is in charge of forensic science and has had to deal with some personal problems with him over time, which sometimes cannot be separated from the professional ones. During the time she is investigating with Clara Hertz, she reveals her intimate problems about her days.

Lizzy Kruger

Ann-Kathrin Kramer, the actress of Lizzy Krüger

The young detective inspector Lizzy Krüger is moving from Hamburg to Lübeck. At the beginning she met with little approval from her superior Marion Ahrens. Her new colleague Benno Polenz ( Mišel Matičević ), who had raised his hopes for Krüger's position, is also reserved for Krüger. After eleven cases together, she got out to take some time off for the family's own riding stud.

Clara Hertz

Lisa Martinek, the actress who played Clara Hertz

Detective Commissioner Clara Hertz replaces Lizzy Krüger with the twelfth case. You only live twice . Her first encounter with her superior Ahrens was in a small collision with her car. She had an affair with bank director Robert Lilienthal ( Roman Knižka ), from whom she is pregnant, as one learns of love and death in the case .
