The shooting takes place in the old town of Leer. There is also filming in Norderney , at the port of Ditzum and on the East Frisian coast.

Ten episodes have aired so far, with the most recent episode airing on February 29, 2020. The film was directed by Sven Nagel , Dominic Müller , Markus Sehr and Isabel Prahl . The scripts were written by Arne Nolting , Jan Martin Scharf and Timo Berndt . The series is produced by Warner Bros. ITVP Germany (formerly: Eyeworks), the producers are Sabine de Mardt (until 2018) and Anton Moho .

Characters

Süher Özlügül and Jens Jensen / Henk Cassens
Two uniformed police officers in Leer who should work in a team and, when it comes down to it, stick together, but also often enough clash when they exceed their competencies in investigations or find it difficult to separate business and private matters.
After Florian Lukas left the TV series in 2017 as the main actor Jens Jensen, Maxim Mehmet stepped in for him as Henk Cassens' new colleague.
Jan Brockhorst
Chief Detective Inspector, initially responsible for murder cases in Leer from Wilhelmshaven, in episode 4 he is transferred there as the new head of the department. Which is the end of the world for him, because he doesn't think much of Friesland in general and Leer in particular and doesn't make a secret of it - dialogues like “Maybe she couldn't take it here anymore? - Of course, nobody can take it here! ”Are a running gag . Rural economic structures are deeply alien to him; in episode 7 he can't amuse himself enough that they “sell shit” as he puts it. He does not contribute much to the investigation, but tries, above all, in vain to portray an authority figure, but then likes to adorn himself with feathers.
Insa Scherzinger
Pharmacist in Leer and passionate hobby forensic scientist. She temporarily closes her shop at any time to examine a new corpse and then produces astonishing results in her private laboratory, with which she is ahead of official forensic medicine. That is why the police like to consult them unofficially, which Jan Brockhorst is of course not allowed to tolerate, but it is also difficult for him to evade Scherzinger's charm.
Wolfgang Habedank
is the undertaker on site and can therefore provide Insa Scherzinger with access to the current corpses at any time. It is an open secret that he also runs a hemp plantation in the basement of his house . Habedank, Scherzinger, Özlügül and Jensen / Cassens are good friends and therefore also investigate together, although not all regulations are always observed.

The middle service and thus the career master - head master - main master has also been abolished in the police of the state of Lower Saxony for years.
