Marianne Wendt

Marianne Wendt (born February 24, 1974 , Berlin ) is a German author , director and dramaturge for film / TV as well as for radio ( radio feature and radio play ).

Life

Wendt studied theater directing at the Directing Institute in Hamburg and architecture at the Technical University of Munich and the Berlin University of the Arts .

From 1999 to 2001 Wendt worked as a dramaturge at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . She then worked as a freelance theater director at various city and state theaters until 2005, such as the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the stages of the city of Cologne or the State Theater Mainz ; During this time she mainly staged contemporary drama, including pieces by Mark Becker , Sibylle Berg , Jenny Erpenbeck , George Tabori , George Walker and Igor Bauersima .

In 2006, Wendt completed the "Fiction Producer TV" course at ISFF Berlin. In the same year she founded the company SchillerWendt GbR together with Christian Schiller and since then has been writing in a duo, in teams or in the writers' room .

In 2006/7 Wendt received a scholarship from the Munich Screenwriting Workshop ( HFF Munich ), where she developed her first screenplay “Half of Life”, for which she was awarded the Tankred Dorst Prize .

From 2013 to 2018 Wendt was the chief author of the ZDF series "Last Trace Berlin" . She also works as a lecturer, festival director, curator and juror. In addition, she develops multimedia, immersive room installations for the Berlin company Tamschick Media-Space.

She is the creator of the SWR / Arte miniseries "Eden" (together with Edward Berger and Nele Mueller-Stöfen ), which was awarded the Grimme Prize Special 2020 for the "Concept of a European Narrative".
