Uwe Janson

Uwe Janson (born November 6, 1959 in Königswinter ) is a German director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Uwe Janson enjoyed a humanistic school education; In 1981 he refused to do military service with a weapon, which was followed by a job as a social worker in the care of the elderly. He then trained as a photographer, the success of which was demonstrated by exhibitions of his photographic work in Stockholm, Cologne, Madrid and Bordeaux. He then completed a degree in sociology, philosophy and German studies in Heidelberg.

His application to the University of Television and Film Munich in 1987 was initially unsuccessful, but in 1987 he made his first own short film. This was followed by assistant directorships with Nico Hofmann and Horst Königstein .

At the same time, between 1987 and 1990 he took part in numerous script seminars in the training program of FEMI and the European Script Fund, among others with Frank Daniel. Uwe Janson was a co-initiator of the independent film distributor Konterbande .

In 1989 Uwe Janson (also screenplay) made his first feature film, Traced Paths , which has won many national and international awards.

Business with friends for the British Film Institute and BBC television followed in 1991 .

Uwe Janson has been making cinema and television productions as a director, author and producer since 1992 - including numerous productions in South Africa, Australia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, USA, Mexico and Guatemala. He has repeatedly received teaching assignments at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the DFFB .

Uwe Janson is a member of the German Film Academy .
