occupation

Die Schlikkerfrauen is a Sat.1 television comedy by Uwe Janson from 2014. The socio-comedic satire relates to the bankruptcy of the Schlecker drugstore chain in 2012.

content

Schlikker is finally broke. But Angie (Annette Frier), Greta (Katharina Thalbach), Zari (Shadi Hedayati) and Chris (Sonja Gerhardt) do not want to accept the threatened closure of their branch in Berlin-Moabit: The four power women are determined to occupy their store and take company founder Theo Schlikker (Sky du Mont) unceremoniously and rather by chance as hostage.

production

The film was produced by UFA Fiction on behalf of Sat.1 . Similar to the film Der Minister , Uwe Janson directed, this time he brought in David Ungureit to work on the script together .

Filming began in July 2014. Two months after completion, the film was already on television.

reception

Audience rating

With 3.05 million viewers, the film had a market share of 10.4% when it was first broadcast and thus took second place behind the crime series Murder with a View, which was also running on ARD (5.91 million viewers, 19.6 percent market share) .

criticism

At Tittelbach, Tilmann P. Gangloff praises the camera work by Marcus Stotz (“pleasant image flow”) and the script for its amusing details and slapstick moments. He also recognizes the acting work of Katharina Thalbach as “outstanding” and recalls her role as Chancellor in the film Der Minister by the same director.

The “loving realism and the good news” remind Arno Frank in the Spiegel of satirical worker comedies like All or Not at all , which also appeal to take fate into your own hands.

Protest by the chairmen of the Schlecker works council

Christel Hoffmann, the former chairman of the Schlecker works council, criticized the fact that on the backs of the Schleck employees and the Schlecker family, an unrealistic satire only wanted to catch a high audience rating, but did not in the least stimulate "appropriate engagement with the topic itself". The producer Joachim Kosack had previously said about the film's approach to the topic: “It was important to us not to ridicule the fate of the real Schlecker women at any time. On the contrary: Our film takes seriously the desperation of these women, whose livelihoods were lost from one day to the next. "
