The white elephant
The white elephant is a children's media prize, which is awarded by the Medien-Club München eV and honors productions that help promote the development of children and young people and contribute to improving and increasing the quality of the offers. The main sponsors are the Bayerische Sparkassenstiftung and the collecting society for film and television producers (VFF). The prize is endowed with a total of 11,000 euros. The patron is the Bavarian Minister of Culture Ludwig Spaenle .
The award ceremony has been taking place since 2001 and has been part of the Munich Film Festival since 2005 .
