action

season 1

The Friedrich-Bergius-Oberschule , in the series the Otto Hahn Comprehensive School

The students Ben, Jonas, Leo, Sophie and Özzi have to attend school on a Saturday. When their teacher, Mr. Funke, who is also Ben's father, leaves the room and does not reappear, the five start looking for him. After walking past another classroom, they see a group of gangsters holding the astronomy class hostage. When the detainees want to disappear, they realize that all exits to the school are cordoned off. The children find out that the hostage-takers are after the nanotron, which Ben's father invented to treat cancer. The nanotron is a device that, through the correct settings, produces microscopic so-called nanobots that get between the synapses in the human brain and thus make the body controllable by a special device. The client would like to be able to control the politicians of Europe in order to achieve sole rule. The five students want to prevent the transport of these nanobots and the nanotron.

season 2

Ben, Leo, Jonas, Özzi and Sophie go camping at a lake near Berlin. When Ben suddenly disappears into the forest, the others start looking for him. They meet a mysterious man who appears to be sick and dies shortly afterwards. Before that, he can tell them that a group of criminals is planning an attack that could kill thousands. The same men kidnapped Ben and brought him to a restricted area. The friends manage to enter the restricted area, but they are locked into it and are completely on their own. They free Ben and find out that the gang has developed poisonous spores that they hide in orchids. Anyone who comes in contact with the spores dies within three hours. When the children themselves become infected, they don't have much time to find an antidote. They also have to try to prevent the orchids from being transported away so that they cannot be used to kill people.

The film

The five students Leo, Sophie, Jonas, Ben and Özzi are about to graduate from high school. Together with their class they go on a school trip to Hildesheim . None of the students could have guessed that they would soon find themselves in a life-threatening adventure that would put their friendship to the test. When they arrive in Hildesheim, the class goes to the cathedral . There is a serious explosion there and it appears that the students have to be evacuated by a special task force. After a short time, however, it turns out that the class was kidnapped by a sect. Only the five heroes manage to escape. Until the solar eclipse , they have to give everything to prevent the catastrophe. They are "alone against the clock" and have to face numerous unexpected challenges.

criticism

“From February 3, 2010, many children will want to stay up late. Parents should then watch. In case it gets too exciting - and because it's exciting! "

"Funny: German television producers have been trying to copy US series for years - mostly with poor results. And then Kika comes along, produces a thriller series for kids in the style of “24” - and delivers top entertainment that inspires even people beyond puberty. Many producers can learn a slice of this courageous series. "

- RTV .de

“Seriously, this is by far the best thing I've seen in German productions in a long time. (...) If something like this were offered with minor changes on an attractive slot of a major broadcaster, the German series could experience a renaissance. "

- Christian Junklewitz, SPEX
