Catharina Junk (born June 20, 1973 in Bremen ) is a German screenwriter and writer .

Life

Catharina Junk studied German Philology, Philosophy and Applied Cultural Studies in Münster and completed her Masters in German Language and Literature, Folklore and Psychology at the University of Hamburg . She then worked as an editor for Radio Bremen and for the NDR . Catharina Junk has been working as a freelance novelist and screenwriter since 2008. The thriller series Alone Against Time was nominated for the German Television Prize and the International Emmy Award , and won the Golden Spatz , the Prix ​​Jeunesse and the Banff World TV Award . The series Die Pfefferkörner 2018 was nominated for the International Emmy Kids Award with its episode “Because I'm a Girl” . For her bestseller novel "Auf Null" (2016, Kindler / Rowohlt / title of the paperback edition: "Love is made from courage") she was awarded the Hamburg Prize for Literature in 2014. Her second novel "To Heaven and Back" followed in 2018.
