Anika Mauer

Anika Mauer (born February 24, 1974 in Bernau near Berlin ) is a German actress .

Career

Anika Mauer graduated from the polytechnic high school in Berlin-Adlershof and was a child actress on television in the GDR. She passed her Abitur in Berlin-Marzahn . From 1995 to 1999 she attended the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . From 1998 to 2001 she was a member of the ensemble of the Bremen Theater . After that she was a member of the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin until 2005 .

Mauer has been working freelance since 2005, making films, making television and, among other things, performed in the 2011 world premiere of Udo Lindenberg's musical Hinterm Horizont . In the 2013/2014 theater season she was voted Berlin's most popular actress, as in 2010 when she received the Golden Curtain at the Renaissance Theater together with the ensemble for the play "Ewig Jung" .

The band Mathilda around the lyricist and composer Florian Bald and the singer Anika Mauer was founded in the late autumn of 2003. In summer 2004, she received the renowned “Young Talent Award for Young Song Poets” from the Hanns Seidel Foundation in cooperation with the Bavarian Radio. In 2009 the band separated from Anika Mauer.
