Kurt Huebner Prize

The Kurt Huebner Prize has been awarded by the Bremen Theaterfreunde eV since 1996. V. award, which within a short time achieved a high status. A particularly outstanding artistic achievement at the Bremen Theater is honored . As a rule, the award is given to individual artists. The children's and youth theater Moks and the music theater division were each awarded once together with the respective artistic directors. The prize was awarded once to a production and its director.

The award is named after Kurt Hübner , who was general manager at the Bremen Theater from 1962 to 1973. Until 2002 the prize was endowed with 10,000 Deutsche Mark , since then with 5,000 euros . In 2005 and 2006 the prize was financed through donations from DekaBank . Bremer Landesbank has been donating the prize money since 2008 .

The prize is awarded at the end of the season by a nine-person jury made up of the General Director of Theater Bremen, four board members of the Bremen Theaterfreunde and four co-opted members, who usually come from the field of cultural journalism.
