Stefan Klingele (born August 30, 1967 in Ingolstadt ) is a German conductor. He has been music director and chief conductor of the musical comedy in Leipzig since 2015 .

Life

Stefan Klingele began as a répétiteur with conducting engagements at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (1993–1996), switched to the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich (1996–1999) as a conductor / répétiteur and finally as first conductor at the Bremen Theater (1999–2007). There he directed the German premiere of the original version of Bohuslav Martinus The Greek Passion and the world premieres of Der Herbst des Patriarchen ( Giorgio Battistelli , 2004) and Inferno ( Johannes Kalitzke , 2005). In his last season, Klingele was chief conductor of the Bremen Opera, which was voted opera house of the year 2006/07 in the critics' survey of the magazine Opernwelt .

Under his musical direction, the production of Intolleranza 1960 at the Hanover State Opera was awarded the “ Faust ” award for the best musical theater direction of the 2010/11 season (director: Benedikt von Peter ).

In concerts, Klingele conducted the Royal Court Orchestra Stockholm, the Nuremberg Philharmonic, the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Hanover State Orchestra, the Duisburg Philharmonic, the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra, the Kassel State Orchestra, the Lower Rhine Symphony, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the Bremen Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Slovenian National Theater.

Klingele has been music director and chief conductor of the musical comedy in Leipzig since the 2015/16 season . There he re-studied Wiener Blut , Hape Kerkeling's No Pardon - The Musical , On the Town and Madame Pompadour, among others .
