overview
The musical is based on the film of the same name " No Pardon " (director: Hape Kerkeling ) from 1993. The musical, a satire about the media world, had its world premiere on November 12, 2011 in the Capitol Theater (Düsseldorf) and ran there until December 2012. The book of the musical comedy comes from the pen of comedian Thomas Hermanns , who developed the idea for the musical together with Kerkeling. The music was composed by Achim Hagemann , some songs are by Thomas Zaufke . Directed by Alex Balga . The stage portal of the piece is reminiscent of a television from the 1960s, mixed with "Ruhrpott" charm. The songs range from Broadway sound to rock and pop sounds, including 15 new songs.

Somewhere in the Ruhr area , Peter Schlönzke (late twenties) still lives with his mother - just like his tearful grandma and his grumpy grandpa. Together, the Schlönzke family runs a sandwich service that supplies both children's birthdays and funerals with liver sausage and cheese snacks. Peter Schlönzke got the role of the "happy lucky bunny" in his favorite show, suddenly becoming a television star himself and taking over the moderation of the show. In a very short time he developed the same starry air as his predecessor and idol Heinz Wäscher and harassed his fellow men. Gradually he loses contact with his family, and the relationship with his girlfriend Ulla is strained. When criticism arises because of falling audience ratings , he is fired. A little girl who once won a talent competition takes his place.
Piece settings
During the Düsseldorf production there were minor adjustments in the sequence of the music numbers. The second version of the song Lasst Heinz Ran was moved to the first act. Take Me Tonight was transformed into a solo appearance by Uschi Blum instead of a duet with Peter Schlönzke. In addition, some dialogues have been rewritten: In the final scene, Ulla's reference to Peter's homosexuality is missing and in the bell tower scene there is no mention of Lingam and Yoni.
In 2017, the musical was premiered in a city theater version at the Musical Comedy Leipzig under the direction of Thomas Hermanns. For this, the plot was slightly adapted and the score was set up for a large orchestra. Heribert Feckler's arrangements were orchestrated by Damian Omansen. The number Bottrop Beach and the figure of Hardy Loppmann have been deleted without replacement in this version.

- Peter Schlönzke: belongs to the "likeable failure" type. He still lives in his nursery and secretly dreams of a career as a television presenter. When he failed in the talent competition for the show "Witzigkeit knows no borders", he at least got a job as a cable carrier , which later helped him to become a show host.
- Heinz Wäscher: is the presenter of Peter's favorite TV show "Witzigkeit knows no boundaries" and also a busybody with starry airs that makes Peter freak out in his job as a cable carrier.
- Hilde Schlönzke: is Peter's mother and runs a sandwich service with her family. She is very proud of her son and supports him in achieving his dream of a television career.
- Hilma Schlönzke: is Peter's grandma. She is a whiny person but helps her daughter with her sandwich service and is proud of her grandson.
- Hermann Schlönzke: is Peter's grandpa and always grumpy and in a bad mood.
- Ulla: becomes a friend of Peter. She works as a sound engineer for television and, after the talent show, helps him get a job as a cable carrier for "Witzigkeit knows no borders".
- Bertram: is the director of "Witzigkeit knows no borders" and smears Heinz Wäscher - and later also Peter - honey around his mouth to keep her happy.
- Doris and Walter: are stressed editors for "Witzigkeit knows no borders".
- Karin: is the “fairy godmother” in “Witzigkeit knows no boundaries”. She always has a pot of "Käffchen" ready.
- Hardy Loppmann: is Peter's sketch partner for "Witzigkeit knows no boundaries".
- Little Bettina and her mother: They take part in the TV show's talent competition and later become Peter's successor as moderators of “Witzigkeit knows no borders”.
